Having read Kipling's famous poem on many occasions over the last 30 years or so, it's surprising that I never consciously noted the somewhat unmissable running reference in the final 4 lines:
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
